There is something special about a home that feels as though it has been collected over time.
Not perfectly matched. Not overly styled. But layered with pieces that have a story, a little bit of history, and a feeling that belongs uniquely to the people who live there.
That is the idea behind My Little Home Edit.
A space inspired by the quiet charm of English country homes, the beauty of the West Coast, and the warmth of modern cottage living. A place where old and new can live happily together, where well-loved antiques can sit beside something beautifully simple and new, and where the little details are often what make a house feel like a home.
Living Made Beautiful
For me, creating a home has never been about following one particular style or making everything look perfectly coordinated.
It is about how a room feels.
The warmth of a wooden cabinet. A stack off well-loved books on a bedside table. Flowers gathered from the garden. A beautiful lamp casting a soft glow in the evening. A piece of furniture with little wear around the edges that tells you it has been loved before.
These are the details that make a home feel personal.
I love the idea that decorating doesn't have to happen all at once. Some of the best pieces are the ones you find unexpectedly - at the antique market, tucked away in a little shop, or sitting quietly on a shelf waiting to be noticed.
My Little Home Edit is about those discoveries.
A Modern Cottage Approach
My own approach to home is a mix of influences.
There is the timeless charm of the English country style - painted furniture, vintage textiles, collected books, old ceramics and rooms that feel comfortable rather than precious.
There is also the relaxed feeling of the West Coast - natural textures, soft colours, light-filled spaces and an appreciation for bringing the outdoors in.
Together, these influences have become what I think of as Modern Cottage Living.
It is warm but not fussy. Collected but not cluttered. Traditional but still comfortable for everyday family life.
And most importantly, personal.
The Vintage Edit
One of my favourite parts of creating a home is finding pieces with a little history.
I have always been drawn to antiques and vintage wares since I was a child. Not necessarily because they are rare or valuable, but because they bring something to a room that new pieces sometimes can't.
Patina. Character. A sense of history.
A beautiful old piece doesn't need to be perfect. In fact, I often love it more for the little marks and imperfections that show it has lived a life before finding its way into ours.
Through The Vintage Edit, I'll be sharing some of the pieces I've discovered and thoughtfully selected for their beauty, character and ability to make a home feel more collected.
Some will be practical. Some purely decorative. Some will be wonderfully unexpected.
But each one will have earned its place.
Our Home Along the Way
My Little Home Edit is also about the process of creating a home.
The projects, the paint colours, the furniture that takes months to find, the rooms that evolve slowly, and all of those little decisions that happen along the way.
Because a home isn't finished the moment you move in.
It grows with you.
It changes with the seasons, with your family and with the things you discover along the way.
And I think that's part of what makes creating a home so meaningful.
Welcome In
So, welcome to My Little Home Edit.
Think of this as a little corner of the internet for modern cottage living - a place to find inspiration, discover beautiful old things, gather ideas and perhaps see your own home a little differently.
I'll be sharing the pieces I'm collecting, the spaces I'm creating, the things I'm learning and all of the little details that make everyday life at home feel beautiful.
There will be vintage finds and home projects, seasonal inspiration, simple pleasures and the occasional unexpected discovery.
Because I don't think a home needs to be perfect to be beautiful.
I think it simply needs to feel like you.
And sometimes, all it takes is one little edit at a time.
Welcome to My Little Home Edit.
